Congenital Scan

The results of the congenital scan were great. Everything all perfect and complete. :) Baby is in the right size and weight too and in the most ideal position. We are so very thankful.

We also wanted to know the gender today. Hehe :D So as of today, we are 80% confirmed having a:

Haha! So the only reason why it's only 80% confirmed is because the ultrasound doctor did not see any boy bits (ie. balls) but we also couldn't confirm 100% because baby wouldn't open her legs. We tried to prod her, poke her and I even talked to her to ask her to let the doctor see but to no avail. Haha! :) So in the report she is "presumably female" unless we get another ultrasound and she lets us see for sure. So there's still that 20% that she's actually a boy.

I gotta say though, I'm utterly convinced she's a girl. In fact, when the doctor said so, I wasn't even that surprised but more of, "aaahhh yeah, for sure". hahaha :) And besides, we've kidded Reg long enough that he'll be having girls to make up for all that past. Perfect karma. Hahahahaha! :D

So anyway, we will be having a second ultrasound in the two weeks - and it's not because to check the baby's gender again and hopefully get a confirmation (but I'd like to get that too). We're going back because they saw a thin amniotic band stretching across the baby, by her chin. It's not attached to her, it's a thin membrane-like band that apparently grows sometimes, for no apparent reason. It can also just go away.

So now I'm praying very very hard that the band goes away so that we don't have any potential problems later on when the baby gets bigger - so that the band doesn't restrict her movements nor move to a not-so ideal place across her body. I've decided not to think about it much and just focus on all the good and positive vibes and praying that the band will go away on its own. :)
