Gaining Weight
TRYING to gain weight at this stage is proving to be pretty hard since I don't have the stomach capacity to eat a lot. I do try the small meals route but I've ended up with a routine that goes like this (mostly dictated by my stomach):
Breakfast somewhere between 6-7am (sometimes a bit earlier even, depending how much I ate the night before)
Lunch by 1145
A snack by 3-330pm
Dinner by 645-7pm (I try to delay as much as possible)
Milk at around 10pm
I used to wake up at around 3-4am starving (which is why I have snacks by my bedside) but since having to drink milk (which I purposely put off till about 10pm, as mentioned above), I've been able to sleep better without waking up in the middle of the night with hunger pangs.
I really hope that the milk does its job for me. Eating hasn't been all that nice because I get full so easily and then I worry. The night before I was hospitalized, I was really full so I am wary of this so much :p Also, I've realised that after every meal, I have a bad aftertaste in the back of my mouth (Reg says it sounds like acid reflux), but I know is caused by medication. I can't do anything about it because what I'm drinking now is already the safest for me so I'm not touching that. Aside from this, I find that I'm slowly starting to get tired of the food here at home. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful that I have access to food (in light of what is happening around us) but I can't help feeling that way. I miss being able to eat out and eat other kinds of food. It also made me realise that I really do not eat at home too often because after almost a month of being indoors, I'm already looking for other food.
Anyway, I just hope that whatever weight I'm gaining now is going straight to baby boy so he can grow and be just right for his age still (we have another ultrasound coming up soon!)
